Windscreen replacement in Bryanston — premium glass, done properly
Bryanston runs one of the highest concentrations of European and premium vehicles in the country, and premium glass is not a like-for-like commodity. A current BMW 3 Series, Mercedes C-Class, Audi A4, Volvo XC60, Range Rover Evoque or Porsche Macan windscreen can carry any combination of acoustic interlayer, infrared-reflective coating, rain and light sensor pad, heated wiper park, head-up display wedge, humidity sensor and a bonded camera bracket.
Fit the wrong variant and the symptoms are subtle rather than obvious: the HUD ghosts, the rain sensor triggers randomly, the cabin gets noticeably louder at highway speed, or the lane-keep camera refuses to calibrate. We match on VIN rather than on year and model, which is why we ask for it before quoting instead of after.
Fitment across Bryanston East, Bryanston West and the Sloane Street precinct
Most Bryanston fitments happen at home in Bryanston East and West, or at the office along Sloane Street, Main Road, Cambridge Office Park and the Nicolway precinct. We also fit at Bryanston Shopping Centre and at the schools' parking areas during the school day where a parent has asked us to.
Drive time from Craighall Park is 20–30 minutes via William Nicol. Estate and complex fitments are pre-cleared with security the day before. Standard turnaround is 60–90 minutes, plus 60 minutes of urethane cure, plus 30–45 minutes where ADAS recalibration is required.
ADAS recalibration is not optional on these vehicles
On a modern Bryanston vehicle the windscreen is a mounting point for the safety system, not just a window. The forward camera behind the mirror feeds lane-keep, adaptive cruise, traffic-sign recognition and autonomous emergency braking. Bonding new glass moves that camera by a few millimetres and a few tenths of a degree — enough to put the system's view of the road out of true.
We recalibrate on-site with Autel targets, running the static procedure in the bay and a dynamic road leg where the manufacturer requires one, and we hand over the calibration report with the invoice. If a fitter tells you recalibration is unnecessary on an ADAS vehicle, get a second opinion before you drive it.
OEM versus OEM-equivalent — the honest version
For a premium vehicle we will quote both where both exist. Genuine OEM glass carries the manufacturer's branding and is what the vehicle left the factory with. OEM-equivalent glass from PGW, AGC, Pilkington, Saint-Gobain Sekurit, Fuyao or Shatterprufe is made to the same specification, frequently on the same production lines, without the badge.
For most Bryanston customers the OEM-equivalent is the right call — same optical clarity, same acoustic and coating specification, meaningfully lower price. The exception is a vehicle still under manufacturer warranty or a car you intend to sell into a specialist market, where the branded glass is worth the premium. We will tell you which situation you are in.
